Star Wars actor Billy Dee Williams now claims that he is not strictly a man and instead is “gender fluid.”
“I see myself as feminine as well as masculine,” the pandering actor said in a recent interview with Esquire magazine.
The 82-year-old actor also told the one-time men’s magazine that he refers to himself as both “himself,” and “herself.”
“You see I say ‘himself’ and ‘herself,’ because I also see myself as feminine as well as masculine,” the Lando Calrissian portrayer revealed.
“I’m a very soft person. I’m not afraid to show that side of myself,” Williams added.
Williams also praised actor Donald Glover as “brilliant” for describing his portrayal of a young Calrissian as a “pan-sexual” character.
“That kid is brilliant — just look at those videos,” Williams said of Glover.
Williams also spoke of his ground-breaking role in the 1969 TV film, Brian’s Song, co-starring James Caan as Chicago Bears football player Brian Piccolo. The acclaimed film followed the close relationship Piccolo had with fellow Bear Gale Sayers as Piccolo died of cancer.
“It was a love story, really,’ said Billy Dee. ‘Between two guys. Without sex. It ended up being a kind of breakthrough in terms of racial division,” Williams insisted.
Williams also praised himself saying that he broke ground with Star Wars, as well.
“What I presented on that screen people didn’t expect to see. And I deliberately presented something that nobody had experienced before: a romantic brown-skinned boy,” he said.
Williams also launched into a somewhat vulgar assessment of the relationship that Princess Leia actress Carrie Fisher said she had with co-star Harrison Ford.
“As far as I’m concerned, I mean, I don’t care what people are — if they’re fucking each other and they’re sucking each other, whatever they’re doing, that’s fine with me. I don’t care,” he blurted out.
